Closed Die Forgings

Closed Die Forgings

Start your project

When it comes to creating durable metal shapes, few processes are more precise than the closed die forging process. Take your design from print to production with the closed die forging experts at Marberry Machine.

Closed Die Forging Benefits

Closed die forging is a metalworking process in which dies move towards each other and cover the workpiece. Material is heated and forced to flow in a bottom die. A top die lowers from above, and the compressive force forms the material into the specified shape.

Unlike open die forging, this process can generate parts with complex geometries that require minimal or zero additional machining to achieve the desired dimensions. Here are more benefits of closed die forging:

  • Better Surface Finish
  • Superior Mechanical Properties
  • Reduced Or No Machining
  • Cost-Effective For Large Production Runs
  • Complex Shapes Are Possible
  • More Precise
